Starsky & Hutch (15)

Well, what kind of hash up could they have made of this then? Certainly not the easiest movie in the world to remake by today's standards, I thought, and what a shock I had.

This piece of work is pure first class entertainment, and in sections absolutely hilarious! I found it hard to believe how authentically faithful to the original classic it has been produced. It seems that every aspect in it's make up has been very carefully replicated and done so, so well! Cast, period, screenplay, audio, fashion - you name it. This is superb!

Ok so I haven't managed to catch up on that many of the re-runs of the original series, since they have been TV screened again, but these guys really do stick in the old '70's memories so well, and anyone with a taste for such, will really enjoy it. Intricately going into and beyond every minute detail this is basically how it all began. Yet another generation can enjoy too! It seems so right to replicate what is basically impossible to replicate, the makers have had to really do this right. Unlike many attempts (and what is left to be remade nowadays)? Nothing is different here; this is exactly how it should be done. It is exactly Starsky & Hutch- as we will know them for life; Full stop. As an audience it is just totally acceptable and totally enjoyable because it is so right! Brilliant, - nothing more, and, -nothing less.

But then, I guess it is more. It is a period piece. One that deserves to fit the widescreen well beyond the old TV 16mm guise. This is a tribute that is not just whole heartedly endorsed by cast, (new and old), but a memory revival of such a different time, when things were so much, dare I say it'better? At the time, no one even knew it. We thought things couldn't be any worse! This kind of movie makes us really appreciate, perhaps, how so, so wrong we really were! Doesn't it make you want to hit the flares once more, the BRUT 33, the disco? Actually it is just like stepping back into a- TR7. There is nothing like it at all.

My word, - how times change! I really could not hold back on any laughter at all in this one. It was like watching a Monty Python sketch for the very, very first time. Totally Indescribable, you will be in complete stitches. Classically reborn to what it deserves. Watch it in the theater and do it justice!
