I had my doubts about whether this movie would be a as good as it seemed to be suited for me by its write up in the flicks magazine in the foyer of the cinema.

Cryptic codes that predict disasters and the like - and now the future of the planet is in the hands of a Professor played by Nicholas Cage.

They couldn't have picked a better actor to play the part, and I thought that the casting, costume and authenticity aspects of the way this film was made absolutely excellent.

Fifty years ago a school class are asked to draw pictures to store in a time capsule, but one weird looking girl simply fills her sheet with rows of numbers.

Fifty years later a new generation examines the contents of the capsule and the cryptic message ends up passed on to dad - the Professor.

After studying the paper, he realises that the numbers aren't random. In fact, they predict with pinpoint accuracy the dates and death tolls of every major disaster of the past, and there are three dates left to come!

Sounds intriguing, and yes it sure is. Aside from some dark underexposed elements and the inclusion of a completely weird house that looked like something out of the dark ages, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The special effects being superb.

Just the right level of pace is put forward leaving one wondering where or how the plot is actually going to end. This one wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea though, but it was refreshing for me at last, to actually see a film at the Cinema that I somewhat enjoyed.

Not that I'd want to see this one again. Some elements of it are pretty scary and deep. Food for thought.
